What Happens After a DUI?

Following your DUI arrest, the police officer will hand you a pink 30-day temporary license. This pink license will allow you to drive for 30 days from the date of your DUI arrest.  However, you must request an Administrative Per Se hearing with the DMV within 10 days of the DUI arrest, otherwise, your license will be suspended starting the 31st day from your DUI arrest.  We can help you to request an Administrative Per Se hearing with the DMV in order to help you challenge whether or not your license should be suspended.  By hiring us within this 10-day window from your DUI arrest, you may be able to obtain a temporary license that will allow you to drive for several months while we prepare your defense at the DMV and in the criminal courts.  Whether you feel that you are guilty of the DUI or not, securing the hearing with the DMV will likely allow you to continue driving and to avoid a longer license suspension, if any, than necessary.

Not All DUIs Are The Same

The important thing to know about your DUI is that not all DUI’s are alike.  There are first offense DUI’s, DUI’s with a high blood alcohol level, i.e., over a .15 or a .20.  DUI’s with an accident.  DUI’s with an injury.  DUI’s with children in the car.  Second offense DUI’s; felony DUI’s (4th DUI or DUI with injury), DUI’s while already on DUI probation, etc.  When you hire Nafiz M. Ahmed to represent you in your DUI, you are hiring a California State Bar Certified Specialist in DUI defense.  We know how the prosecutor and judge usually think about all these different types of DUI offenses.  We also know when you should push forward and fight your case.  And, we know when it is just best to cut your losses and minimize the consequences against you.  We will also expertly guide you in getting a restricted license and your full license privileges back.  We can even help you save money by providing referrals to our recommended SR-22 insurance providers and Ignition Interlock Device companies (if necessary).
